The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's and women's outdoor track teams will head south to Auburn to compete in the Tiger Track Classic Saturday, April 4 at the Hutsell-Rosen Track.

UTC senior John Gilpin placed sixth in the men's 3000 meter Steeplechase and the men's DMR also placed sixth on the final day of the John Mitchel Alabama Relays at the Sam Bailey Track.

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga sophomore Paul Stuart (Brentwood, Tenn.) placed ninth in the men's 5K last Friday night on the Mocs' first day at the Alabama Relays at the Sam Bailey Track.

The UTC men's and women's track teams will open the outdoor season in Tuscaloosa this Friday and Saturday to compete in the John Mitchell Alabama Relays at the Sam Bailey Track and Field Complex.

UTC junior Marquis Carter and redshirt freshman Maddison Melchionna both earned all-conference honors Saturday on the final day of the Southern Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The women's DMR team bested the school record with a time of 11:49.59 to claim the Southern Conference title and the men earned all-conference honors with a second place finish.
